Cheryl’s Story

Site created on August 13, 2018

On Sunday August 12th Cheryl was airlifted to HCMC in Minneapolis for emergency brain surgery after she fell and hit her head. The blood thinning medication she was on contributed to the bleeding. The surgery was successful and she is making good progress in the Intensive Care Unit, but remains in critical condition. The goal is to be able to remove the ventilator. If this can happen, then she can be transferred to the main floor. The family is incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and support at this time. The Lord is her shepherd.

Journal entry by Cheryl Backstrom

Cheryl is now in outpatient rehab here in Northfield. It seems that some days will be good and some not as good. Pray for patience for her as cognition may be slow in returning. Pray for me, John, as I have to do a lot of household duties that I have never done. The road ahead appears long at this time.
