Journal entry by Michelle Krcmery —
We wanted to express our gratitude to all of you for your love of our mom and support for our family. We are in the process of writing Thank You notes but wanted to post this in the meantime and provide an update on the Post-Funeral Luncheon fiasco...
SPOILER ALERT...it all worked out and apparently my mom REALLY wanted a Mexican fiesta!
My mom always loved Azul Tequila so I called them early in the week to ask if they could accommodate a large group of 50-75 people for our funeral luncheon. I talked to a very nice host over the phone and I asked about some of their options but there was a significant language barrier. I asked for a call back to officially plan the event. I didn't hear back so I assumed they were unable to accommodate our group.
At that point, I called Papa Vino's and planned the luncheon. Somehow there was a glitch on their end and they accidentally booked it for Mishawaka (their events person works for all locations). She was extremely apologetic for the mishap.
As many of you know, there was a lot of chaos while we were trying to figure out a solution. Aimee's friend Reina speaks Spanish and was kind enough to call Azul Tequila to see if they could accommodate us. The host said they were already expecting our large group and even had us listed as a reservation! God is so good!
The staff there knocked it out of the park with the food and service. We also even got to request the song "Cielito Lindo," one of my mom's favorites, which we we all sang along as best we could. So, apparently Cheryl/Mom's pull in Heaven is very strong and it all worked out!
I do apologize to those of you who didn't end up being able to join us due to the confusion.
Muchas Gracias everyone!
