Cheryl’s Story

Site created on November 28, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  As you may know, after suffering with back pain and nausea for most of the summer, and visiting many doctors and enduring many tests, Cheryl was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.   However, by God's grace, we are fighting, praying for and expecting a complete healing.

A favorite verse of Cheryl's...

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Other favorite sayings of hers...
"I don't need to be better than anyone else, I just need to be better tomorrow than I am today."

"Everybody wants to have friends, its just that, not everybody knows how to be a friend. So be a friend to everybody."  (Cheryl's dad, Jack Stoner)

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Tom Elliott

Cheryl has completed her journey.  She has fought the good fight and is finally home with Jesus.

1 Timothy 6:12 - Fight the good fight of faith.  Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Romans 8:18 - Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

May the future and hope that God promised, be shown in you through your memory of Cheryl, and the life she lived for others.
