Cheryl’s Story

Site created on August 14, 2018

Cheryl Monroe suffered an aneurysm on August 8th after losing her brother to Cancer on August 7th. She was flown to Jefferson Hospital in Philly where she is currently in the ICU undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, Cheryl did not have health insurance and there will be a long road to recovery for her.  We are raising funds through GoFundMe and at the Ocean View Family Restaurant where she waitressed for the last 24 years.  On September 9th there will be a benefit dinner/music/auction at the Millville Fire Department.  Tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cheers-for-cheryl-tickets-49364961930   Please don't be shy! We need all the help and donations we can get to pull of this event. All donations go to the Cheryl A. Monroe Special Trust.

I am happy to report that Cheryl is home and re-acclimating! She has been out exercising and learning how to maneuver with depth perception loss. Her short term memory is improving and she will be following up with the hospital next week. I want to thank everyone that has donated and that helped us raise just over $7,600 at our fundraiser this past Sunday. Please continue to pray for Cheryl's recovery and for her to be able to seamlessly setup follow-up care.
