Charles continues to adjust to his new routine and become reacquainted with home 🏡
Some "glimmers" include his consistent SMILES and funny "HAHAs" when he laughs 😃
Charles is standing 🧍♂️ with support and is now up to 20 minutes in his bouncer (legs are not completely straight but getting strengthened by the weight-bearing) 💪
Charles is CONSISTENTly rolling to both sides and getting reacquainted with tummy time...
He is working on pulling up. At present, he still cannot push with his right arm.
Charles is also still learning to swallow. He currently takes up to 10 trace bites of puree baby food alongside 4 X daily of feed through G Tube.
BIG SHOUT-OUT to everyone who helped us get Charles the formula he needed. There were no negative reactions with the back up formula and the right kind came in just in ⏲️ 🙌
Charles is getting plenty of snuggles and outdoor time as well 🥰
He has pet the stray cats and dogs while babbling back and forth with all of us (his favorite activities) 😍
He is also now saying HEY 👋 with a huge grin on the daily!
Biggest HIGHLIGHT is that Charles is now connected to outpatient services in Rome, GA with Jackie Hufstetter (Occupational Therapist) who practices alongside her close partner, a Physical Therapist. This practice is especially designed to treat babies with serious injuries.
There is also a ST (Speech Therapist) present though she does not provide feeding and swallowing services.
If you have insight into Speech services with feeding included around Carrollton, GA, please message one of us 🙏
So far, our outpatient provider is impressed with Charles's performance given the magnitude of his severe brain injury.
Based on his records, Charles should NOT be functioning the way he presents...
This is truly nothing short of a MIRACLE.
As our family navigates healing during this time, we ask for your prayers and any Moral support (drop ins to the home to help with Charles).
Points if you have medical experience with G-Tibes or have a child or teenager who would like to play music for Charles and/orentertain him!
I (Norie) am back at work and my in-laws are truly holding down the fort with this little boy!
Our circumstances have been challenging and it is only because of Christ that we can withstand the pressure 😬✝️❤️🩹
THANK you to everyone who has continued to pray, check in, and bring us meals. You all have made this shaky time manageable and helped us see the Body of Christ in motion!
We pray HEALING over our village and also that our Charles continues to Grow in a loving stable environment 🙏 ❤️
