Newest Update

Journal entry by Charity Hershberger

What a whirlwind this past month (two) has been!

Thank you again to all of you who have reached out to me; I really appreciate the kind words.

Update:
Thanksgiving is past us (in case all the help from the store decorating didn’t help you figure that out). Doug and Valerie and I got to spend some time at Turkey-in-the-Hole which is a tradition every year before Thanksgiving. We walked down to the Buccaneers campsite! I was amazed to be able to walk down there! For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to go, then I hope you get the chance. I’m so glad to have walked down the trail, with a few minor balance issues, balancing on a small walkway is hard enough but I will take the win!
We had Thanksgiving with my family in the afternoon and rushed over to have another dinner party at Bryan and Chrissy’s home (Doug’s brother and sister -in-law). It was a wonderful day! We didn’t have to decorate much either because we decided to get a tree and put it up the week before. I was happy!
we leave for our cruise next week! If anyone has any tips for dressing to go on a “winter” cruise I will love them!

No more physical therapy for me! Mostly running out of time to go to therapy with taking care of a baby, I’m still not driving.
I tried driving again the week before Thanksgiving, out east of the I-75 which is more rural setting, and people drive soo fast out there!
I don’t multitask right now very well. So I can’t talk and drive at the same time. (I drove grandpas Envoy which is a suv but feels massive compared to my car).
Maybe I will try to drive again in January but that seems like forever away.

I see the PA at the neurologist office In January or February sometime.
I’m still not up to working at this point.(Not medically cleared either).
I’ve also become very picky as to what I want to work, so maybe I will feel up to working again in January, but who knows. At this point I definitely don’t want to be a bedside nurse anymore and being around kids doesn’t sound appealing either (hence the pickiness)

I will I’ll update you all after the cruise! We will be back in time for Christmas, but in case it’s too late , I want to
wish you all a merry Christmas.
