Journal entry by Chandra Carlson

I should be much further along in my radiation but there were a few snags getting things just right. My treatment was pushed back twice due to swelling, or lack of swelling. My breast was still healing from the surgeries, therefore every time we'd go to start radiation, I had lost some swelling and things wouldn't align from the week before. Third time was a charm, and I was finally able to start last Tuesday. The staff, again, are amazing and make me feel so welcome. They were so grateful for my patience, and I was so grateful for their determination in making sure everything was perfect and safe. There is nothing more humbling than to know a team of oncologists, nurses and physicists were involved in making this happen. Apparently, this beast of a machine is magic and was able to give them the best angles for my particular treatment. They have 3 of the 'other' machines but IIIIII need this 'special' machine (that they only have one of, haha). 7 down, 23 to go!
