Journal entry by Lanae Faber —
It’s been exactly 5 weeks since Caleb was admitted to the hospital. We were in Sioux Falls for 2 days, Mayo for about 2 weeks, and then a week later we moved into a new home. It has been such a wild ride, but we are slowly getting back to that “normal” life that was taken SO for granted.
Caleb continues getting daily infusions of antibiotics and we will travel back to Mayo later this week to get a better idea of how things are looking. We are so thankful that he’s feeling well, his pain is manageable, and he’s getting so much stronger every day.
Please pray for the families who are stuck in the hospital right now. I personally know of several and I can’t stop thinking about them. Being in the hospital for Thanksgiving was SO. HARD. And I just know that it would be 100x worse for Christmas.
Thank you to my loved ones who have sent Christmas cards. I’ll try to be back on my game next year! And thanks again for the countless other ways that people have supported us. I’ll never be able to thank you all enough, but because of your help and your prayers, we are able to have a wonderful, stress-free Christmas this year. We’re grateful for the simple gift of being together and we are especially thankful for the gift of Jesus.
Merry Christmas!
