We are working on making a quilt for Linus' mother Ellen. It's supposed to be a surprise, but she'll probably read this and other references to it. But if not a surprise, a gift from the people who know and love Linus. Sam Tilton is heading up the project, below are some directions from her.

Hello friends,

Thank you for considering creating a quilt square for Linus’s mom, Ellen.  We know this will be a loving way to remember Linus and to share our love with Ellen.

You can follow any of the designs attached, these are the designs that Linus was following for his own squares.  They are embroidered onto a single square, like his prayer flags. You can also make your own square, perhaps highlighting something special about your relationship with Linus or honoring the things he loved.

Either way, the squares should all be 10 by 10 inches.  Please wash and dry your fabric before starting your square.  I would recommend using woven fabric (not knit fabric, like a t-shirt).  If you need any fabric, call me, I have lots to share.

Send your squares to me by May 10th so that there is enough time to pull it all together.

The final layout will depend on how many squares we make. If you are interested in helping with the quilting and binding, let me know and we can make some plans.
