Cathy’s Story

Site created on December 5, 2018

Our Darling Mother, Sister, Cousin, and Niece suffered a brain aneurysm late Saturday Night, December 1.  Through the grace of God, Jayce, her loving son, who had not planned to visit his mother until the following day, decided to go see her on Saturday night.  Upon arriving at her home, he found her almost completely unresponsive and in a daze. He called 911 immediately. Cathy was transported to the emergency room, then put on a plane to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara for an emergency operation. She had a large brain aneurysm and was placed in an induced coma for a few days. Once she wakes up, she will be put in an intensive care unit for at least 2-3 weeks. Currently, Cathy's vitals are continuing to be where they should be, but the nurses warned that night 3-4 is where complications can arise. The medical team has advised they are at the ready if something comes up.

Our dear Cathy is progressing well. She could possibly be transferred to another facility this week, possibly to Encino. This is an extended Rehabilitation Center to advance her in adapting to independent living again. She will receive occupation therapy there. Insurance approval is pending. Currently, she is still progressing in speech therapy and physical therapy at the Arroyo Grande Rehabilitation Facility. God bless our Dear Cathy toward full recovery!!!!!!!
