Journal entry by Lindsay Mackay

Hello everyone!

I know I’ve been absent for awhile. Things have been busy. So sorry!

The last few weeks have been good for mom since her second surgery. There was one minor set back due to a blood clot traveling to her lungs which caused her to go back to the ICU for a few extra days.  But that’s all taken care of now. She still has weakness in her left side and is unable to walk. She’ll need the help of physical, occupational and speech therapy until she’s better.

Today mom got released from the UW hospital in Madison and was transferred to a rehab center in Rockford. She seems happy. She told me it was nice to see trees again! It’s the little things. Right?

Mom was diagnosed with a grade 4 astrocytoma tumor. This tumor is fast growing and cancerous. She’ll be starting radiation this week if not early next week.
I’ll keep everyone updated on that journey.
