Journal entry by Katie Morris

Mom started her second round (5th treatment) of chemo today- The first round consisted of 4 treatments given over 2 months. Chemo drugs for the first 4 treatments were:
-Carboplatin,
- Alimpta,
-Keytruda
Dr. Moore discontinued the Carboplatin- which is part of the protocol after 4 doses of it. He hopes that this will help to relieve the anemia that mom developed during the first 4 treatments. Outside of this, she handled the first round of treatments like a champ and didn’t have any serious complications- Praise God!

Next chemo is planned for June 10th and then after that they will do another PET scan to check on progress and assess the treatment response sometime in late June.

Mom had several great weekends. Andy and I went to Macon for Mothers Day and had David, my father in law,  come join us that Saturday for a visit.  This past weekend, mom spent time with her college friends, and then was able to go up to North Carolina to visit her dad and sisters which she really enjoyed.

We are thankful for everyone’s support during the first round of treatments and ask that you continue to pray for healing.
