Last week my mom had an amazing week last week like really good, she FaceTimed Tobias on his birthday and sang him happy birthday, she made conversation all day, was up a lot. It was amazing 

Then Friday the 6th she was acting kind of off. Not really following commands, didn’t look very comfortable, wasn’t talking really too much. So I called her nurse to see what she wanted me to do, she called an ambulance for us to bring her in. The squad got there and could hardly feel her pulse, her blood pressure was extremely low. They brought her in, they were worried about her having more seizures or because her last dose of the steroids was Thursday they were also worried it could be a reaction from that. So they admitted her. 

From that point on Saturday they hooked her up to the EEG and did see she had a few back to back seizures on Saturday night. They upped her seizure meds and added a bunch. However she also did go unresponsive Saturday night through now. She isn’t really awake, wasn’t talking, moving her hands and feet when asked, she wasn’t eating/drinking. It has improved a bit since then she was responding a lot more then she has, this morning she was able to respond to us talking to her, she was following some commands, and following noise, it was reassuring to see. The rest of the day she really wasn’t awake though, they tried to do a swallow study and start PT but she wasn’t able to participate in either. 

Side note: she is recieiving nutrition through her port as of yesterday since she hasn’t eaten since Saturday.

What’s to come is so uncertain right now. Her doctor is very hopeful she will wake up from this and she will go back to how she was before (not normal Cathi but not terrible) and she can continue treatment and try to beat the 6 more months prognosis they have given her. On the other side if she doesn’t wake up from this enough to be able to continue chemo (which is pills and she has to be able to swallow) then that would take things drastically downward since she would be living on feedings through an IV and not awake and not being able to move. So the future and our length of time with my beautiful momma is really uncertain right now 😪❤️

On another side note: since the coronavirus is a huge thing right now and she is in the hospital with a really shitty immune system and with a bunch of other people with really shitty immune systems we are no longer having any visitors come up. Thank you ❤️
