Cathie’s Story

Site created on April 28, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!

We all know individuals who go above and beyond for the benefit of others. Cathie is truly one of those people! So much so that she had been tested and matched to become a live liver donor for a woman she had not known. She simply saw the need and learned that she could save this woman's life by donating a portion of her liver and she jumped on the opportunity. Carla Neal-Haley has been suffering for 8 years from the side effects of primary sclerosing cholangitis, a liver disease which has a life expectancy of 10 years. Part of Cathie's liver will be donated to Carla and both will regenerate back to full size! Amazing! It will take approximately 6-12 months for both of their livers to regain full size.

The surgery is scheduled for Monday, April 29th. Please pray for the wisdom and skilled hands of the doctors and the health of both Cathie and Carla! This is truly a match orchestrated with God's hand and we are confident He will continue to use both women for even greater things ahead!
