Journal entry by Betsy Baker —
Catherine met with plastic surgery on Tuesday. Overall, her healing is going slower than expected. They did remove her drains yesterday. She has one area of concern that needs to be watched carefully for signs of infection. She also was prescribed more medication for pain control.
At today’s appointment, Catherine was referred to the oncology physical therapist. She has swelling in her right arm from lymphadenopathy, which physical therapy will help treat.
On February 2 Catherine will receive the final oncology report (she has only seen preliminary pathology report) and know more specifics about prognosis snd treatment.
Currently her siblings are still assisting with day to day needs. Her sister Carlene arrives Sunday for another 2 weeks as Kip and Jill head home. Catherine could not imagine going through this without their support and assistance.
We anticipate that Catherine will be unable to drive for at least another 4 weeks. Given this, we may be requesting help from local friends to provide assistance with transportation to various activities, such as Robotics for Max and appointments for Catherine. We also plan to set up a meal calendar in a few weeks.
For now we appreciate your continued love, prayers, care packages, cards, and support. 💕
The pups are also providing 24/7 support for their mom 🐾🐾🐾
