Cassie’s Story

Site created on December 26, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. To those who have asked how you can help- we are registered at Amazon, Target, and Wal-Mart. We also have a GoFundMe set up for larger medical bills/ loss of income, due to extended maternity leave. Your love, support, and prayers are just as valuable though. Thank you! ❤️

Newest Update

Journal entry by Cassie Rogich

It's been such a good 6 months for Hudsie Blake since our last update! He has learned to wave, eat table food, and army crawl! He is babbling and certainly knows how to get his point across. We have been busy camping, playing, and learning new things. We haven't had too many appointments since our last update but most recently we have been to a feeding clinic, the Spina Bifida clinic, and to see his Cardio doctor. He still does his weekly therapies and his specialists at the Spina Bifida clinic are so happy with the progress they see, especially his crawling and eating. He is in the works for getting a bigger pair of AFOs now too! He briefly hit a growth spurt, but it has slowed way down again, he's a little guy for his age! We will see an ENT in a couple weeks to check out his chronic congestion, so hopefully that goes well and there are no major concerns. We had his echo yesterday and it showed the hole in his heart is getting smaller, so we are happy to see that! Unfortunately, they are seeing his aortic valve leak a trivial amount. It's possible they missed this before but even a small leak can cause valve damage, putting him at risk of needing a replacement over time. They want us to come back in 3 months rather than 6, so I am very glad they are on top of it! If we see worsening, they will close the hole to prevent further valve leaking. He is otherwise happy with Hudson's heart and gave us no restrictions! We ask for good thoughts for his ENT appointment and his heart to keep doing its job. Hudson will also be put under for an MRI in January so we can have a full picture of his brain and spine. Thank you for reading even if it's not an often occurrence these days. We take things by day and try to enjoy Hudson's accomplishments as they come, we have such high hopes for him !
