Mayo had a cancellation, so we were able to meet with the Surgeon and Radiation Oncologist yesterday.

Their recommendation is 5.5 weeks (28 days) of Proton radiation therapy and a chemotherapy pill.

Because doctors can better control where proton therapy releases its highest concentration of energy, it's believed to affect less healthy tissue and have fewer side effects than traditional radiation therapy.

Proton therapy isn’t currently available in Fargo, so he will start these treatments in Rochester on Monday, April 29nd.

After the radiation treatments, he will have a short break. He will then start 4 months of chemotherapy in Fargo, at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center.

If needed, Mayo will perform the surgery. Please pray for successful radiation and chemotherapy outcomes.
