We can all shout praises to God for what He has done! An update from Cary Briley:

First, it is my wife’s birthday! Please wish her a happy birthday, and I certainly don’t want to upstage her birthday. She is the smartest woman I know and God gave all that intellect to someone so pretty. She is certainly a blessing to me.
Just wanted to give an update on what I’ve been up to over the past 8 months. You will see the results of an experimental test that although isn’t embraced by the oncology community, it has given me added confidence that this latest battle is over. It shows there is not any DNA of my cancer detected in my blood.
In May 2021 I was diagnosed with a reoccurrence of my cancer, this time in my liver. I had what my surgeon called “big boy” surgery, since it was quite involved and I came out of surgery with more tubes than I could count. It was successful. My team at Tennessee Oncology kept me fighting through complications and sickness to complete 6 months of chemotherapy to kill off any lingering cells.
So many people have stepped up to once again show me and my family so much support through this. There are way too many to mention, but I want everyone to know that I know you by name and think about everyone often.  I am so thankful for all the peace and care you have shown us.
I have to thank God for putting people in my life such as doctors, nurses, trainers, and therapists for all they do for cancer patients. Family and friends have been so supportive and so many have stepped up in so many ways. My work has given me such grace to concentrate on my health and returning to serve the citizens of Nashville.
I have to thank just a few by name. Mandy and Patrick Moss have served as organizers, counselors, advice givers, and just great listeners and prayer warriors. My wife has juggled school, work, taking me to countless appointments, and sat with me at times when I was in great pain and discomfort. She never let me stop looking beyond cancer to our lives ahead.
I am currently NED, which in cancer circles means ”no evidence of disease.” I will remain under surveillance by my care team for the foreseeable future. I will fight again if this terrible disease shows itself again. My doctors consider the cancer killed/removed.
I am also mindful that I have friends who have faced cancer with a true warrior spirit, but the battle for them ended here on earth and they have peace and paradise now. My heart has been broken many times over the past three years due to this, but I also know what they want; and that is for me and everyone to continue living.  Thank you again. Love, Cary.
