Carolyn’s Story

Site created on March 1, 2022

In February of 2017 Carolyn was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 4 with mets to the liver. We did 6 treatments of chemo ( the bad stuff ) and another half year of chemo/blockers. In Jan. 2018 after realizing it wasn't getting any better, we decided to go to Oasis of Hope in Mexico. After being on their treatments for about 9 months, the liver mets were gone. So surgery was done in March 2019 to remove her breast. We continued going to Mexico for treatments. Although she never actually went into remission, she did fairly well over the next few years, until a recent scan showed it spread throughout her bones in multiple areas. She is dealing with neck pain, no appetite, and is very weak. We are doing radiation on the C spine for 10 days. Please pray. Especially that her appetite would return.

Thank you all again for the outpouring of love and prayers, food etc. from all of you. It is truly amazing, and the blessing of good community and friends is not lost on us. ❤️
While God’s grace is abundant and very much felt by all of us, it is still be a very hard weekend. Please pray for strength for the family, and also good health for everyone. Carolyn’s youngest, Charisse, had a fever yesterday and this morning, if you all would keep her health in your prayers we would appreciate it!
There is also family from out of state traveling today and tomorrow, please pray for everyone’s safety. Thank you!
