1st doctors 👨‍⚕️ appointment with Carol's general doc was today. Anticlimactic to say the least. We walked in with our list of questions and walked out with the same questions.  On the upside he was running late so we got to get a ice cream cone 🍦 at Chick Filet!!!  Yum.

Brian's final chores we're cooking the three square meals for the day and trimming bushes. For you golfers 🏌️‍♂️you have heard of The "Green Monster of Ladue Road" at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.  Well, Carol and Calvin have a Green Monster...the Holly on the corner and it's a beast. 😅

Mom, you can do this!  If things get rough remember you can do all things through Him who strengthens. ✝️.  You are loved by many and being deeply loved by someone gives you strength.

Dad, you've got this!!  You can do more than you think.  Sometimes we get overwhelmed and forget the power of a kind word, a gentle touch, a listening ear, a smile 😀 all which can turn things around.  Staying positive is crucial in caregiving situations.

For both Mom and Dad, when you're going out into the world, no matter how old (or young) you are it's best to hold hands 👫 and stick together.

Many of you have said throughout our (Kim and Brian's) time here with Carol and Calvin what a good thing we have done.  Kim & I owe it to our parents for beating good manners into us and being taught what doing-the-right-thing looks like.  They taught by example.  We were also asked, "where do you find the energy?"  I point to 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 which reminds us "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." ❤️

We would all do well to keep this verse on our tongues and not think of it as "the wedding verse."  As we get older sometimes our words have a bit of a sting to them and Paul's letter to the Corinthians is a good way to remind us how to be.

That's it for today.....it has been a pleasure writing this for all of you and keeping you by Carol's side through this adventure.

In the words of the famous Missourian Walter Cronkite, "and that's the way it is."
