Carol’s Story

Site created on December 6, 2022

Hello family and loved ones - Carol is in the hospital with delirium complicating her dementia that unfortunately does not have an identified reversible cause. Mom is struggling with frightening delusions and hallucinations that scare and sadden her. Her team at Mayo Clinic has been stellar and now question if her Alzheimer’s is perhaps Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). Her basic activities of daily living have been compromised as has her quality of life. A hospice referral was placed to start planning for comfort care. As her family we support this for this rapid progression but ask that those who love her follow along as we journey this difficult path with her.

Please feel feee to share your thoughts, questions, and memories of Carol on this site.
