In hope, prayer, and faith all things are possible. We have been praying and hoping through this whole journey that God would shed light on the situation and perform a miracle in mom's body and on her cancer.

Mom's white cell counts were too low for the doctors to comfortably give her the last round of chemo this week so instead it was a short 1.5 hour visit for immunotherapy compared to the normal 8 hour infusion.

This past week mom had her routine PET Scan on Friday, on Monday we went in and sat down with her oncologist before her Chemo/Immunotherapy infusion. During this meeting they were able to show us the results (see attached photos). They expressed how shocked and speechless they were that she has had a complete response to this round of treatment!! The Doctors and Nurses all have stated that she has done something against the science. Many of the infusion nurses even saying they had never seen that wording on scans before!!

With this turn of events, it has not changed her overall prognosis. There is a 10-20% chance of long term remission, although her doctors feel she is above that average.  With those numbers we know there is still chances of the cancer returning or traveling. Because of this prognosis mom will continue on her treatment plan, with removing chemo from infusions and now starting a double dose of immunotherapy (Keytruda) every 6 weeks over the next 2 years. In addition to these infusions she will have a Signatera blood test every 3 months testing for number of cancer cells in the blood, as well as routine PET/CAT Scans in hopes of catching any regrowth or movement as early as possible.

We are very thankful, to quote the doctors, that our conversations have changed from months to years. We are extremely grateful for this!

So obviously there is a long road ahead of mom and our family, but we are hoping and praying for the best and hoping that God will continue to perform miracles as he has already shown us!

Our family, especially mom and dad want to make sure everyone is aware of how grateful they are and how blessed they feel having an amazing community around them, praying for them, and sending all good thoughts and vibes their way. We are also very thankful to her care team at the Cancer Institute at Prisma, for being available for phone calls, FaceTimes, and encouragement up to this point and in the future!
