Journal entry by Susan Joy —
May 4th-Caroline's Covid Battle: Day 11, she is looking great! She is breathing very well. She is breathing well with no oxygen at all. She is eating small amounts. Feeding tube was removed today. PICC line (central intravenous line) was also removed so now she only has IV in her hand. She was able to get up to the recliner in her room with help. She is getting physical and occupational therapies. We did a video conference with her and she is hoarse but able to speak a bit. She looks really good! Uncle Ned called while we had her on video conference so he and his family were able to say hello. The hospital is going to allow Scott to drop off a bag of clothes, a cell phone, and some books. We are now figuring out where Cali will go when she is discharged...very complicated with Covid. Thanks everyone for your kind messages!
