Carol Ninette Higgins was born October 5, 1943 in Pendleton, Oregon.  Her parents were Howard and Rachel Reeder. She went to elementary and high school in Helix, Oregon. In high school she was active in band on her trumpet, school year book, volleyball, cheerleading, and school paper. Her parents were wheat farmers so she grew up knowing the discipline and hard work of farm life. There were chickens to tend, hogs, milk cows, and harvest crew meals to help prepare.
After high school she attended Oregon State University earning a Bachelors Degree. Her first job after college was in Baker City as a extension agent.  From there she taught home economics in junior high in Lake Oswego and then Cascade Junior High, Bend, Oregon.
She was married to Robert Higgins in 1966 and had two sons Thad and Matthew.
Carol had a creative streak that was amazing. Her interests led here onto painting, calligraphy, stained glass, knitting, machine knitting, sewing, embroidery, quilting, writing several books, woodworking, and teaching.
Carrol spent 14 years in Uganda as a missionary fulfilling roles in medical care, establishing orphan care, teaching orphans vocational skills, and being a radio presenter.
Carol has two brothers who still reside in Oregon.
Carol departed this life October 25, 2020, and embarked on eternal life with the heavenly host.
