Carole’s Story

Site created on July 29, 2016

Dear Family and Friends –

When mom was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago, you were the incredible support system that helped bring about the miracle of healing through your prayers, caring smiles, encouraging words, and thoughtful visits. We all have truly been blessed with the gift of sharing more time with each other!

Unfortunately, we are heartbroken to share that mom has a new diagnosis of extensive stage small cell cancer. This cancer is very aggressive and she has decided to forgo treatment in order to enjoy a quality of life that involves being loved on by family and friends. She will be well cared in her apartment at Harmony, the Independent/Assisted Living facility she moved to in December of 2021, with Hospice support.

At this point, she does not have any particular needs---other than your continued prayers and friendship! Visits and mail are welcomed too. Her phone number has not changed and her address is Carole Tutan, Apt. 207, 9136 Old Montgomery Rd., Savannah GA 31406.

We appreciate your support and words of encouragement during this time when it matters most.

This is just a note to share our gratitude to everyone who has reached out with condolences and memories of our amazing mother! We have been drenched in love through your care and your stories!

We will celebrate her life in the ways she wanted on Saturday, January 14, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church (2 St. Thomas Ave, Savannah GA 31406) with a reception following. The service will also be live-streamed at https://www.youtube.com/@StThomasIOH/streams

Several have asked and so we share that a full obituary will be found on the Fox and Week's website (foxandweeks.com) in the next day or two. Mom wanted memorial gifts in her honor to go to Hospice Savannah (1352 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah GA 31406) and St. Thomas Episcopal Church (see address above).

If you cannot join us in person, please join us in prayer!
