Oh my- I really owe an update.  I can not explain the busyness in our home, all while I am still working.  I apologize for the long delay.

Everyone is doing well.  Growing and developing as expected.  Capri is now 7 Lbs. 12 Oz; Christina is 6 Lbs. 12 Oz; Camaya is 7 Lbs. 9 Oz.  They are starting to get a little fat on them.  They are caring most of the weight in their checks.  They have transition from preemies to newborns.  Bring home a preemie baby is so very stressful.  I had no idea.  I will be much more attentive to friends and family that may experience bringing home a preemie.  They need support as it is so overwhelming.

They quickly learned to feed off each other creating several moments of three crying babies.  Our routine has adapted to where we never have on adult with three babies.  Sounded doable but it is awful, feeling like you are stranded on an island all alone.

They have increased to almost 3 ounces of formula per feeding.  We are still feeding 8 times in a 24-hour period.  We have seen four-hour stretches of sleeping through out the night.  Every minute of sleep for us is priceless.  We hope this becomes consistent.  We did have to manage a formula shortage issue and change formula that was more available.  They are on preemie formula that is fortified with extra nutrients and calories.  That switch set our progress back for about 5 days.

We are starting to see them awake more for during the day.  We are trying time in their loungers and mamaroo swings.  They are not huge fans of the swings yet.  They have had a couple outings for doctor appointments.   They catch the attention of others who look relieved that it is us and not them.

My mom joined us last week.  Her help is so great.  The meals people are bringing are wonderful.  It so appreciated.  It takes away one less task during a time in the day that the triplets start to increase their feedings.

Stevie is coming home this weekend to see the triplets and Caiya.  She had to leave for Illinois two days after the triplets were born.  What a difference she will see.

There are days that are so grueling; but the days that are filled with reward and accomplishment are what we will remember.  I am aware there will come a day that the monitor will be silent.  That our responsibility will be less.  I will miss these days.
