Journal entry by Carmina Adams

As you most likely heard, two and a half weeks before surgery I had another internal infection (4th infection).  Only this time after trying me on two different antibiotics, to no avail. I am so thankful for the Lord’s timing in that, at a time when nothing was working to clear the infection, God had already set the appointed surgery.

Due to the infection though, the doctor did not want to do all that he planned at surgery, in fear of the risk of doing more than my body could handle.  He did the important part; took out the infection, did the swap and cleaned me out, but this means I will unfortunately still need another surgery, and honestly I was in so much pain with the infection, I was ready for surgery and did not care that it had to be done it two parts.

Currently I am still having low-dose targeted chemo along with HER2 hormone blocker infusions every three-weeks through to mid August. I have asked if we can hold off on the surgery until the fall so that they can remove my port all at the same time. Five surgeries in the course of eighteen months is enough for me! So no scheduled surgery date as of yet.

Unfortunately, due to having that last infection for so long, they are now thinking that my upper left quadrant muscles were effected and currently my range of motion in my arm is only at about fifty percent.  So between the lymphedema web syndrome in my arm and the truncal cording in my core, along with my muscles, I am not doing so well and could really use the prayer.  As a result, I am still going to lymphoma therapy weekly and Praise the Lord, I have qualified for an electronic compression pump sleeve, jacket and shorts (the dream machine) which will be arriving tomorrow.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:19–20
