Carlene’s Story

Site created on March 28, 2022

Welcome to Carlene's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
Carlene was making breakfast on Sunday Morning on March 27th, 2022, when she collapsed. Steve immediately responded to help her and called 911. She was taken to Grantsburg Hospital, where she was then transferred to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Enroute to North Memorial, she suffered 4 separate cardiac arrests. Once she arrived at North Memorial, they discovered she had a blood clot in her heart. They administered lifesaving blood thinners to her. Unfortunately, there was significant damage done to her heart and the blood thinners also caused additional bleeding. Carlene is currently in the ICU and is on a ventilator and is unresponsive. She is able to take some additional breaths on her own. Steve and Tom are with her and are waiting for a care conference with the Specialist Team.  At this time, North Memorial is only allowing 2 people at the hospital, so no additional visitors are allowed. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

A special THANK YOU, to everyone who came out and supported the Christensen Family and helped us, Celebrate Carlene's life. While this was an incredibly hard day for the family, it was also a beautiful day. A day to see how loved Carlene was by so many and to know she accepted Christ as her Savior.... and now, she is "Safe in the Arms of Jesus!"
Please continue to pray that God's love will comfort her family.
As Thomas said, "This is not goodbye...... It is, until we see you again..."
