Journal entry by Steve Kvasnik —
Dear family and friends,
The past few days, Candee has been to the Mayo Clinic and had a pow-wow with her local oncologist and we wanted to share a few updates.
Candees current treatment regimen is designed to prevent growth, however, she continues to be an overachiever, as her latest scans have shown some unwelcome progression, proving that this treatment is ineffective. While this news might seem a bit gloomy, it does shed light on her recent membership in the ‘Nap Club’ and her unintentional participation in the ‘How Much Weight Can You Lose Without Trying?’ contest.
Her medical squad is gearing up for another biopsy into the world of Candee’s liver to test other areas of the tumor. Depending on the outcome, the doctors have mentioned a chemotherapy treatment, but we will wait and see what the results are.
As a family, we knew going into this that we were facing a rare type of cancer and that treatment options were minimal. Through all these ups and downs, our goal remains crystal clear: boosting Candee’s quality of life so she can get back to enjoying the things she loves.
Thank you all for sending your love our way. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest Candee news!
Much love and positive vibes,
Steph, Scott and Steve
