Journal entry by Candace Falk —
Thank you all for sticking by me, for believing that I can make it through this plight of so many months.
There were times when I so wanted to reply to your comments, but just couldn’t escape the physical pain that held me back.
Your notes painted me as strong and triumphant when, in fact, I felt weak and disheartened and diminished by the miserable maladies that have taken over my life.
As you already know, Lowell has been beyond wonderful—measuring improvements, keeping the outlook sunny even on the darkest days, rolling with the indignities of medical care, taking it all in stride.
This week set a record for me—three days without excruciating pain, without oxycodone, getting to feel almost normal.
Hence, here I am, finally on the Caring Bridge—feeling cared for and caring about you too. —and hoping to continue so---in the days and months to come.
For now, I send you my love and appreciation, and look forward to a time when we can be together again, to pick up where we left off and even share some new experiences in our post pandemic world. We’ve all been through so much.
