Journal

Forgive me for posting this request for donations in what feels like a sacred space. This was always my place to share with you our story - and now it remains somewhat of a deserted battlefield. I suppose eventually I will close this site down and no longer come to these pages to write to you. But...not today. I wish this post was an update on our progress towards starting Cam’s foundation but (spoiler alert) it is not. We are still searching for the idea that feels right, for something that is as special as he was. Turns out that's harder than we thought. So more to come on that…stay with us and stay tuned.

This post is for another self-serving reason. We are back to fundraising for St Baldrick's - our top non-profit for pediatric cancer research. Since it’s Pediatric Cancer Awareness month, and the “Brave the Shave” event is finally happening in-person after so many years of not, we felt like it was the right time to contribute. So, this is me, asking for your money again. This Saturday 9/30 is the annual event and Drew will be shaving his head again for the cause, just as he’s done every year for what feels like…well, forever.

If you have the ability to donate, even a small amount, we’d appreciate it. I mean, who doesn’t have $25 for pediatric cancer research? What are you going to spend that on anyway - A pillow from Home Goods? Socks on Amazon? Two tickets to the movies? There’s nothing good to see anyway - so you might as well put the money towards something more impactful. Below is the link to our fundraising page:

Please know there is zero pressure to contribute (I'd clearly make a terrible salesperson). We still love you and appreciate all the support you've given us over the years. If St. Baldrick's isn't your thing, but you’d like to do something in Cam’s memory...I’d suggest donating blood. There is a MAJOR nationwide shortage and they are always in need of donors. It doesn't cost anything, and it literally saves lives (Visit: https://www.redcrossblood.org/).

Even though Cam lost the battle against cancer, the fight for a cure doesn’t end. Cam showed us all how to battle hard things with strength and determination, and we owe it to him to do the same. We will continue to fight like he did, because that’s what we are all made of.

xoxo
