Journal entry by Arriel Bachler

Callan officially made it home late Sunday evening! 💙 he has been doing well, outside of his extra fussy moments. They allowed us to bring him home early to finish up his withdrawal period. He has his last dose of methadone tonight, which will wrap up his weaning journey! ☺️ Praying that his temperament will get back to normal soon.

Callan is to take a steroid neb twice daily moving forward. We have to meet with a pulmonologist in the next 2-3 weeks to follow up and get a respiratory action plan in place. The pulmonologist we met with in the PICU did mention that Callan could have some long term affects to his lungs, due to scarring that may have occurred from the ARDS. Praying that this isn’t the case, or that it is something he can grow out of or overcome as he gets a little older, but we will find out more when we visit with the pulmonologist again.

Thanks again, to all of you, for the love, support, and prayers! PTL our sweet baby boy is home! 🥹🥳
