Caleb’s Story

Site created on January 17, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My name is Lois and I am Caleb's aunt. I have set up this site to help Caleb tell his story and to create a forum where friends and loved ones can share encouragement and provide support as he navigates this journey.

Caleb is a very outgoing, loving 19 year old young man. He played football for Carter high school in Knoxville, Tennessee, throughout his high school career.  He has been active in Young Life Ministry, and the community service they provide.  In addition to sports, Caleb enjoys fishing and other outdoor activities.

On November 27, 2019, Caleb had surgery to remove a lump that had formed on the side of his neck. The doctor submitted the tissue for a biopsy.  That is where this story begins...

On December 9,2019, Caleb's and his mother, Corie, met with the doctor and were told that Caleb has an aggressive form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma.  He was told that although his cancer is stage 2 they want to treat it aggressively as stage 3. This means that Caleb will face continuous chemotherapy treatments for the next six months.

The next few days were a whirlwind of trying to process what all of this meant and doctors appointments for scans and to have a port placed to begin his chemo treatments.  Caleb began chemo on January 6th.

Please visit this site often to follow Caleb's journey.  Feel free to leave words of encouragement for him and our family and keep him in your prayers.  If you feel so led, check out the "Ways to Help" link to discover ways to help Caleb and his family as they face this incredible obstacle they have been met with.

Thank you in advance for your love and support.

I just wanted to take a moment to update everyone. Caleb has started what will be his last week of chemo. He is doing great. We will update as he finishes his active treatment and continues his journey to remission. God bless you all for your continued prayers.
