Caleb’s Story

Site created on April 22, 2023

Caleb Matthew McMurry (4 months old) has been diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma after a mass was discovered on his chest at a routine pediatric appointment last month. He has bravely conquered his first round of chemo and has responded well. He will continue weekly outpatient chemo treatment and then will return to the hospital in 3-4 weeks for continued chemo infusions. Please join us in prayer for complete healing, for the Lord's protection and strength and for no side effects from treatment. We were so grateful that his PET scan showed no additional masses! Praise God!

We are using this platform to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement!

Journal entry by Anna McMurry

This week is a week we have prayed for- a week where we get to celebrate our BRAVE and COURAGEOUS warrior for being cancer free! I would be remiss to not include all that have supported Caleb and our family in his ring the bell. While we are keeping the actual ceremony to grandparents, Grace (our nanny) and hospital staff, I do have a zoom link that will provide you all an opportunity to watch the ceremony.

I truly get teary eyed and more emotional as we get closer to Friday. I don't think I've been able to fully process all that we endured this last year, but the weight and significance of Caleb being cancer free weighs heavier daily as we see him grow and thrive into such a silly, curious, mischievous, FUN little boy. There's a light that dances in his eyes that we see more and more everyday that shows us how foggy his little brain was probably feeling as a result of chemo, surgery, and post operative medications. God is good and so kind and we are so thankful for Caleb's life and recovery!

I will repost the link later on this week too as I know things like this can get lost in the shuffle :)

The ceremony will take place on Friday, February 16 at 12:30. The link is listed below
