Newest Update

Journal entry by Lynette Poquette

Hello family and friends! Some major things have happened this week, some how all in the same week. It’s been a long time since we’ve posted an update but he’s definitely been progressing slowly but surely.

First, he officially passed his drivers training course with flying colors. And is released back to driving on his own with no restrictions! As you all know Caleb , this bit of freedom was huge for him.

Based on his neuropsych exam, he is also released to go back to work up to 20 hours a week, no heights though! Lol and as good as that news is, of course he did feel some frustration still wishing he could go back full-time and it’s hard to be told what you can, and cannot do. Logically, though he does understand that he will need to ease back into the work situation.

All of the lawyer stuff is still very much up in the air, we can say that as of now he will start getting some Workmen’s Comp. compensation from the state, as it’s going to be longer to determine who’s actually liable. But the financial relief of that is huge! As far as where he goes back to work, that will still be determined. In his heart he wants nothing more than to return to Old Tucson but of course, that will take steps to be determined as well.

Lastly, they were able to bring their sweet dog Rambo home! They fostered him for the past four months as the barking and hyper puppy activity was a huge trigger and overwhelming for him when he first got home. Rambo is doing fantastic and Caleb is enjoying lots of doggy cuddles now.

I’d like to mention that through the progression of his brain healing he’s definitely withdrawn from social activities. He’s become very aware of his triggers and how to monitor and de-escalate himself but it’s something that he constantly has to be very aware of and it’s overwhelming and exhausting for him at times. We know you all love him and care for him so much but want to also let you know to please not take things personally if he has not been as active as he would have been prior to the accident. We are so proud of him and blessed to keep seeing him progress.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers, it has meant the world to all of us!
