Summertime is here! Although I am not in a place to tolerate the outdoors as I used to, it is fantastic to be able to taste the sunshine and delight in the warmth of summer in small bites. I have hit a fairly regular cycle on my meds. I have a few good days strung together followed by a few challenging ones. Overall, I am doing well. My physical therapy is helping and I have been cleared by my cardiologist to begin to build back up my cardiovascular health! This is going to be challenging, but I’m ready. I’m ready to push. I’m ready to be strong again.
I no longer carry the worry of cancer’s return. I don’t care. I get up everyday and I only focus on this day. What can I do to make this day count?
There will be hard days, but I know that after hard days there will be easy days. I have not always endured this adversity gallantly, but this have learned valuable lessons along the way. I’m so grateful for this experience; it has taught me so much about myself. Most importantly, it has taught me that self awareness is paramount. The second most important thing this journey has taught me is that nothing lasts forever… not even the bad days. So no need to worry, everything ends eventually and there is great comfort in that.
