EXCITED TO SAY THIS WILL BE MY FINAL POST!!!!  Bryan is back to work inspecting on his own and yes he’s getting up on roofs!  My family asked me last night how I felt about that and my answer is GREAT! A conservative estimate Bryan has been on more than 25,000 roofs without even a stumble (he owned a roofing company prior to inspecting) and I trust my husband and his judgment. We will never know what happened that day that caused him to fall.  But what we have learned is invaluable, we have learned that our support system is 1000 x more than we could have ever dreamed, we have learned to not take a day for granted, we have learned to love deeper and forgive quicker, we have learned to value family and friends more, we have learned when you fall you must get back up and not let fear run your life. We are so fortunate that the only long term items Bryan will have to deal with are hearing aids (due to nerve damage in his right ear) his left eyebrow not working (again because of nerve damage) his mouth won’t open all the way (because his jaw didn’t heal correctly) and a partially torn rotator cuff (we are assuming from the fall)that he’s trying to strengthen (Thank you Michelle ❤️) to avoid surgery. He had his final neurological appointment last week and has been cleared, the CT scan showed everything in his brain has returned to normal. When asking the Dr if he could ever play soccer again he replied “absolutely he can play”. This stunned us both as Bryan was mentally prepared to retire. I admit I cried when I heard the Dr say he could play again. I had flashes in my mind of the moment I fell in love with him and it was on the soccer field.   We have family and friends that ask us why we spend so much time taking Gannon to soccer and lacrosse, it’s not just a sport that you are taking your kids to it’s a community that is there in good times and bad!  For this we know for sure as Bryan’s soccer community from all different stages of his life were there for us and we are forever grateful!  Again, I’ve had people ask me if I’m upset if he plays soccer again?  My answer is simple I would be upset if he didn’t play soccer again. I heard the ER doc the night of his accident loud and clear when he told me “the only reason your husband is alive or not paralyzed is because he’s in such good shape” I believe that with all of my being.
At the end of it all I want myself, my husband, and our kids to make decisions on thier own and do what makes us happy because we are never guaranteed a tomorrow.
We are so incredibly thankful for all that donated to the gofundme, gift cards, dog sat, made us meals, everyone at Irongate, Cornerstone, Sahms Family Restaurants, Simon O’Grady, C21 Scheetz & Keller Williams Indy North all of it has eased our burden during the past eight weeks SO much you have no idea!  You all have literally gotten us thru our darkest of days! 😘

With much love,
Bryan, Sheila, Madison, and Gannon
