Bruce’s Story

Site created on February 28, 2021

Bruce went in to cardiac arrest while out with friends Saturday, Feb 27th, in Ft. Collins. CPR was performed by a friend and a good Samaritan, and then the paramedics, but it took a while to revive him. He was at Poudre Valley hospital in the ICU but is now in the Cardiac unit.

Journal entry by Peggy Johannsen

Hi friends and family - just wanted to give a quick update and let you know everything is going ok since he's been home. Bruce had some followup appointments this week and got all good reports!
The implanted defibulator electronically transmits data to the doctor's office and there has been no unusual activity.
They did some more cognitive tests and those were ok.
Also, he found the good samaritan who did the CPR before the professionals arrived! He went back to Old Chicago's and asked what had happened to Bruce so an employee got his info. He is indeed an off-duty cop. Bruce didn't get what agency he is with but he was able to thank him over the phone. And I will be sending my thanks as well!
