Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers and encouragement!

On Thursday, June 10th Brittany was admitted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  Brittany had been dealing with fatigue and increased numbness in her fingers and face for just under two weeks.  She had visited the doctor for blood work and consultations; however, on Thursday, June 10th things got much worse.  Brittany began to lose her balance, her vision became hazy and doubled and she could not follow along in conversations.  She was taken to 212 Medical Center Urgent Care where the doctor ordered an MRI.  The MRI showed inflammation on Brittany's brain.  Brittany was immediately put on a heavy dose of steroids to reduce the inflammation.  Thursday evening she was admitted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  Brittany is suffering from encephalitis and an autoimmune disease.  Her team of doctors are working to uncover the root cause of her encephalitis along with an exact diagnosis of her autoimmune disease.  She continues to be on heavy doses of steroids to reduce the inflammation on her brain.  Please join us in praying for Brittany's healing, answers to her health issues and for her family.  We know our God is powerful and present with Brittany.  "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

Journal entry by Lindsay Johnson

Brittany received the all clear to go about her life as normal! Her MRI looked good and her neurologist was optimistic about Brittany's healing. While the root cause of Brittany's autoimmune encephalitis was never discovered, her brain and body are doing well!

It has been a year none of us expected or ever wish to repeat; however, in the midst of every high and low there has been the undeniable strength of God holding us together. On the worst days, when Brit couldn't go more than 10 minutes without losing control of her body or slurring her words, God was there. On the best days, when Brit came home from the hospital, had her first episode free day or when she got the all clear, God was there. God was and is powerfully present, and we are beyond grateful for his love and provision!

Thank you for praying, caring, checking in and being a part of Brittany's journey. We hope each of you know how much we love and value you, and even more importantly, how loved and valued you are by God!

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:37-39

Merry Christmas!

By Grace with Joy,
Lindsay
