Journal entry by Emma Niehaus

So today Britt walked with PT/OT to the bathroom and door to her room assisted by a walker and gate belt (i think that is what they are called) and someone hanging on to her. Her right arm being broken (all the way through above her elbow) she cant put any pressure on it . It has a brace on it and not a cast. She is pretty weak and legs are sore and the major bruising don't help. She loves to sit in a recliner! She is plugging along and wants out of here!! Her cath and feeding tube were removed tiday but she has to eat 1800  calories/day through a straw (her jaw is wired shut until next week sometime) or they will reinsert it feeding tube... UGH...     the plan is to go to On With Life Rehab in Ankeny when discharged from hospital.  Here they will do intense PT/OT/Speech Therapy in preparation for going home.  Thank you everyone for all the prayers!!

"Tough Cowgirl" is sure making wonderful progress!
