Journal entry by Emily Anderson

Brilyn Dorothy Anderson peacefully passed away this morning a little after 1 am in my arms with her daddy right next to her holding her hand. We were hoping to make it to midnight with her and we definitely did that. Her ecmo machine was starting to clog up which to us was a sign she was saying she was done and ready to go to Heaven. So we listened and had our care team start to turn off machines. We continued to tell her how loved she is by everyone, how much we will miss her, and will tell her sisters all about her. We are completely shattered and we saw some things no parent should ever have to. We will be working with the funeral home to set up arrangements and will share those when we can. For now we kindly ask for privacy as we navigate through this very difficult time and to be present with our girls. We would like to thank all of you for your love, support, thoughts and prayers. We can truly feel the love surrounding us! We would also like to thank each and every one who took a part in caring for Brilyn these last couple of days. The nurses and doctors at Mayo LaCrosse, Sparta ambulance for the transport, Gundersen, Mayo One flight team, and Mayo Rochester. Fly high beautiful girl, we cannot wait to see you again some day. 🤍
