Bridger’s Story

Site created on January 21, 2024

Welcome to Bridger's website! We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Our story began in August of 2023, when Anna found out she was pregnant. We were overjoyed, shocked, and immediately began asking "what's next?"! At our first ultrasound, we found out that we were expecting twins! So our joy doubled, as well as our anticipation. That all took a turn when in October, we discovered that we lost one of our twins due to Vanishing Twin Syndrome. Although we never were able to find out the gender of our baby, we named him/her Shepherd (see previous Facebook post regarding reasoning for name), and began a journey of grief.

At our 20 week ultrasound in December we discovered and were finally introduced to our daughter (!), whom we named Bridger Adeline Seefeldt. However, in that same appointment, we were told something was wrong with her heart. Thus began this journey of cardiologist, MFM, and OB visits all aimed to find out more about our daughters defect and prepare us for her delivery.

So, what's next for us and why the CaringBridge website? We Seefeldt's are preparing to relocate to the cities to deliver at the Children's Hospital in preparation for our daughters open-heart surgery. Please be praying with us as you follow our journey.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Nathan Seefeldt

Anna and I are currently sitting outside on a bench enjoying some sun, while the grandparents watch Bridger upstairs. She’s doing awesome still!

Yesterday and today she got rid of a few more tubes. Now she only has her nostril O2 line and some electrical sticker sensors. That’s it! We got to start putting clothes on her too, so that’s been fun. :) We are in a new room, a less critically monitored room down the hall in the CVCC. Now we get to actually begin playing the parent game and try and figure out her eating/pooping/sleeping schedule just like any ole baby. ;)

Incredibly thankful.
