Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s that day of the year when LOVE is to be celebrated. ❤️❣️❤️
And, we are Celebrating! As many of you know, today - February 14th - is our FIRST Anniversary! Yes, Brian Ryan and I have just completed our COVID HONEYMOON, and mercifully, without any COVID issues! Hallelujah!
But, did you know that today marks another MILESTONE in our lives?!? It’s been EXACTLY 6 months ago today that Brian was blessed with his new lungs! The photos we’ve included here show just a tiny bit of the many special moments he’s enjoyed because of his new lease on life! A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Maybe, but to us, these pictures are priceless!
However, what we didn’t know until just a few short hours ago is that today is also NATIONAL DONOR DAY! Observed every year on February 14th, NATIONAL DONOR DAY is an observance dedicated to spreading awareness and education about organ, eye and tissue donation.
National Donor Day is also a day to recognize those who have given... those who have received the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation... those who are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant... and, those who died waiting because an organ was not donated (available) to benefit them in time.
We share all this now because since Brian was accepted as a patient candidate by the AdventHealth Lung Transplant Institute here in Orlando in March of 2019, he personally has met someone in every single one of these categories! That hits close to home and I thought worthy of sharing.
Sending this with hearts overflowing with love and gratitude for all the support we have received these past 6 months! We thank the good Lord for everyone of you in our nightly prayers!
