Brian’s Story

Site created on December 8, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Throughout the summer I really wasn't feeling very well. I was run down, unmotivated and had a sense of things falling apart. The last week of October I had test run to see if I needed my Gallbladder taken out. The results came back showing that my gallbladder was only operating at 9%. Then on the 5th of November I went through the surgery.

The symptoms did not go away, so then about a week later a CT scan was ordered along with an endoscopy. At that time they found blockage in my esophagus. A biopsy was taken and the results came back on November 29th that I had Esophageal Cancer.  The next day,  a PET scan was taken,  showing  that the cancer had spread to some of my bones, as well, making it Advanced Stage IV Esophageal Cancer.
