Brian’s Story

Site created on November 25, 2020

Beginning in April, Brian began experiencing pain in his back and over the next few months the pain continued to grow. By July he scheduled an appointment with his doctor and they began searching for answers. Initially he was being treated with physical therapy and chiropractic care. By October the pain level was unbearable and an eleven on on a scale of one to ten but doctors were still unsure on what it was. On November 8th Brian went to Orthopedic Urgent Care, received an X-Ray & MRI, and learned that there was a mass on his kidney and a tumor on his spine and other concerning issues. By the 13th we learned that he had stage 4 kidney cancer that had spread to his spine. Over the course of the next couple of weeks his care team and doctors developed a plan to begin radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy as well as pain management.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Kim Geraty

Happy Friday!

This week Brian had his 3 month CT scan and it was a very good report! The report shows no active cancer! He will keep receiving immunotherapy every 3 weeks and has another CT scan scheduled  in November.

We have had a full summer spent making memories with family and reunions with friends.

We are so thankful and continue praying for cancer to never return. Thank you for holding us up in prayer. We remain constant in trust that God is our present help in time of need and always with us.

We send prayers to each of you that He will meet your every need.

Love and blessings!

Kim & Brian
