Brian’s Story

Site created on September 5, 2023

On July 20, 2023 I went with Dad to the urologist in Spencer after his primary provider found some abnormalities in his labs. His urologist really wanted to do a prostate biopsy but, since he was still on blood thinners from his pulmonary embolism following his broken leg and surgery, they opted to wait and do an at home test in the meantime. A week later, Dad got the results from the home test. They were "highly suspicious", so a biopsy was the next step. On August 17th, I took Dad to Spencer again, this time for his prostate biopsy procedure. Everything went well that day, so back home to wait about a week for the results. On August 23, Dad got the results that his biopsy results were positive. We immediately went into problem solving mode.
On September 11, Mom, Dad, and I will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic for Dad's consultation with his care team there. After this appointment we will know more about treatment options and plans.
