Brenda’s Story

Site created on June 28, 2020

In October, 2013 Brenda went into cardiac arrest while at work. Due to quick action by several co-workers, she was rushed to the hospital by EMTs and was able to resume normal activities for six years. In the last year this became much more difficult, and in May, 2020 her name was  placed  on the United Network for Organ Sharing  (UNOS) transplant list.

Journal entry by Gregory Vedder

June 28th is Brenda’s one year anniversary of her new heart. She just completed extensive testing at the U and all looks good. She is going to concentrate on increasing her strength and endurance by working with a personal trainer. This seems to be a good time to end our correspondence via Caring Bridge. We are grateful for all the family and friends who followed her progress this past year. We hope we can stay in touch via visits, phone, emai, and texts. Thank you and best wishes to you all.
