Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

-On Feb, 2 my mom, Brenda Tagtmeier, went to the doctor for a suspected UTI and received antibiotics.
-On Feb 15th she contacted the doctor as symptoms were still present. PA Amanda Neiman wanted to see her prior to additional meds. She was referred to St. Joes Hospital for a CT of the abdomen.
-On Feb 17th she went to see a Urologist for a cystoscopy procedure. Dr Chapman found multiple tumors which required surgery to attempt removal and a biopsy.  Which was followed that day with a preop for surgery. The surgery was scheduled for Feb 21st.
-On Feb 21st Surgery to attempt removal of tumors. Dr Chapman was able to confirm the cancer is stage 2 high grade and invasive in the muscle wall. She will need chemo followed by bladder removal. That evening she returned to the ER with complications.
-On Feb 23rd a CT scan was done of the lungs.
On Mar 1st she went to the U of M to see oncologist Dr Emmanuel Antonarakis. He confirmed the diagnosis and went over his chemo plan in which she will be able to be treated in Brainerd under Dr Friedell. The same day she was assigned a Urologist, Dr Zable, at the U of M to perform surgery for bladder removal after chemo is completed.
-On Mar 7th she met with Dr Friedell in Brainerd to review her chemo plan
-On Mar 14th her power port was inserted for the chemo treatment.
-On Mar 15th a full bone scan was completed.
-On Mar 16th she started her first dose of Chemo

Updates will be shared on this Caring Bridge page for all those interested in following my moms journey. She asks for all prayer warriors to storm the Heavens.

The link below is for a GoFundMe set up to help her with expenses that will build up during treatments and recovery. She has been strongly advised by her doctors to not work during treatment as her line of work exposes her greatly to germs and has a high risk for infections.

Today was moms second 3 month follow up scan, 6 month in total. Needless to say it was a nerve racking day. She already got the results back from the scan and is thrilled to report a clean scan!
