Brave had a productive PMR appointment as we finally embarked on the long-awaited visit with Gillette, gaining invaluable insights! As you may recall, many of Brave's challenges stem from his extremely premature birth, resulting in brain hemorrhaging and significant impacts on his physical development, particularly in his lower extremities. His body experiences tightness, making activities like crawling and walking challenging.
During our visit, Brave received a diagnosis of "Mild to Moderate Cerebral Palsy," confirming our suspicions from discussions in 2022 when Brave was too young for a formal diagnosis. While the news initially brought some sadness, it quickly turned into a sense of validation and acceptance, knowing that a clearer understanding will empower us to better support our son's growth and development.
This diagnosis isn't a setback but rather a treasure trove of insights to guide us on Brave's journey. We're thrilled to begin our partnership with Gillette, where Brave will receive PT, OT and speech pathology support. Additionally, he'll be fitted with bilateral solid AFOs (ankle foot orthotics), marking an exciting step towards promoting his mobility.
We're eager to keep you updated as we embark on this new chapter dedicated to enhancing Brave's mobility and well-being!
As always, we thank you for your support and prayers!
