Brandon’s Story

Site created on September 22, 2023

In August I went to the hospital for some abdominal pain. Tests revealed some very concerning things. After having some more procedures and scans, the doctors told us that I have stage 4 metastatic stomach cancer. We will be starting chemotherapy very soon and are going through Akron Summa to get the treatments. We will also be exploring all options through other cancer treatment centers, but it was critical to get the treatments started now. I am not really having any pain at this time. Other than getting tired very easily, I feel fine most days. Thank you for your prayers, texts, calls, and support. Pray for good news and good days.

Journal entry by Brandon Keck

Hi everyone,

This week I went in for my immunotherapy.  There was a mix up with the insurance so I didn't get the treatment until Wednesday.  Overall, it was not a bad week of doctoring as there was no nasty chemo to be given.   I still can't feel my hands and feet.  Some days it is better and some days it is worse.  Our hope is that as I take this break from chemo, I would gain back the feeling and my body would heal.  I am walking and doing things with my hands to keep  up circulation in hopes that it would bring back feeling.  It is getting harder to button my shirts and amazingly the legibility of my signature has gotten worse! I didn't think that was possible. Anyway, continued prayers are always appreciated.
